Description
Yesterday I did something I rarely do. Everybody's always going nuts about realism in rendering these days, I thought I should give it a try. Normally I don't give a crap if people know what I do is 3D rendered or not, but why not change it up a little, go for the "real" look. I think it came out pretty decent. I don't like the hair, and I forgot to do anything with the whites of her eyes, and there's a bit of the dress that really looks fake. But overall, not too bad.
No actual postwork on this one, just a tiny spot lightened up because it was too dark.
What you see:
randomized G2F
Sienna Hair
Hebe Dress
Zora's Treasures
Render Studio Iray
tons of shaders

Eyewhites are some of the most difficult things to get right, so it's all good. The skin and metals are especially great.
Most transmapped hair looks very out of place the moment you start going for remotely photorealistic, whatever the renderer. I find that the textures from OOT's "IrayPair hair shader" help _a_lot_ (haven't tried the actual Iray mats because Iray is, well, too slow on CPU to do anything meaningful in, but they're probably good), and yet...

And the dress, I don't think it's possible to do better with it short of re-texturing, adding proper drape/stretch morphs and fixing the UVs. It is just a "good" example of two things: lazy modeling + lo-res textures. That vendor with the A name, let's just say I stay away from their clothing models. Textures... everyone thinks that a 4K texture map is enough. But actually, if the UV mapping is meh, 4K is lo-res.
